  • All the way from Andorra, Shane shares with his his insights on how to launch your product using Press Releases.
  • Press Releases or PR are a piece of content.
  • Press release has the right keywords, word length and title that can be picked up by journalists and bloggers.
  • Shane’s business has all types of clients and uses press releases to generate external traffic not just for Amazon sellers.
  • Press releases never went away but it got abused.

The Press Release

  • The title is essential – no stop words.
  • PRs are not magic. The links in PRs are what push up the rankings.
  • Coordinate the PR with the same words and phrases as the rebates.
  • Backlinks – the PR must link to different good sites.
  • Google will see this as a well written, piece of content.

How Structured

  • Always go for long phrases.
  • Create different PRs with the same keywords.
  • PRs are not meant to be read! But Google reads it.
  • But when you have something really newsworthy then it gets picked up by media sites.
  • Use the press releases to your store
  • Canonical URL and direct URL do not show any difference.

Long Term Stuff

  • The titles create a great impact on how Google or search engines look at your press release.
  • You could rank good content, long term.
  • A typical launch takes two weeks.
  • Release one or two before the launch.
  • Impressions will be very low.
  • It has to be consistent monthly or weekly whichever works.
  • Knock down keyword after keyword.
  • You then build that good Google rank.

Press Release Sites

  • Send releases on sites that keep on content for months or years.
  • Stay away from sites that keep content temporarily.
  • Good sites: Yahoo, Reuters, Premium Networks and regular distribution for newsworthy pieces/ products

Additional tips

  • PR pushes up sales and pins you on top with ranking.
  • Check if you should use press release, it is not applicable to everything.
