A bit of a background

  • Paul Harvey is the co-founder of Seller Chatbots and is an Amazon mentor.
  • Tom Wang is  seven figure Amazon seller and he coached over 800 people in Vancouver.
  • Ivelin Demirove is an Amazon Seller and Founder of the Orange Hat Hackers Movement

Take Advantage of the Current Climate

  • This depends on your product or niche.
    • People selling non-essential goods, Facebook ads are increasing.
    • If you are selling supplements — now is the right time to advertise.
  • Stop all ranking process — a lot of products shipment date is moved by a month, the conversion good will not be any good.
    • Switch everything to FBM listing.
  • Should you rank? Find out f you have the right product right now.
  • If you have the inventory and means to fulfilling it, now is the time to drive keywords ranking.
  • Find out what people are searching.
  • The A9 algorithm weights ranking based on availability.
    • At this time, things are not normal on the ranking platform.
  • It is also advisable to lean back because of the delay time.

Strategy During This Downturn

  • What is your goal? if it is cash flow then sourcing and then flipping products.
  • Lean harder into branding right now because everyone is on emotional alert and you can win more customers with your impact
  • If you have a war chest then work on ranking on keywords.
  • Blitz strategy: get as many sales possible through two types of super URLs.  This can work really well, targeting two to three keywords.
    • The downside: rebates can cause you a lot of money and that adds up.
    • Instead of two weeks, you can do this steady approach up to 30 or 45 days. You still want to rotate between this super URLs.
    • By targeting keywords for 30 to 45 days, you don’t have to give away that many units per day.
