The "Double Bit Throwing Axe" is based on the North American working axes, but has been modified for use in axe throwing. Both edges are identical & the centre of gravity & handle are carefully positioned so that the axe rotates well in flight. The dimensions a&design of the axe comply with the rules for axe throwing. Made of the highest quality Swedish steel available, this beauty of an axe weighs 4-3/4 lb. It has two larger 6-1/4" head faces & can also be used as a working axe in the forest, excellent for larger trees. Hickory Handle is 29" long & straight. Axe includes two grain leather sheaths for the blades.Each axe head is hand-forged from special Swedish steel which is then honed, tempered, & annealed to the perfect hardness by the experienced Gränsfors Bruk Swedish smiths who stamp their initials on the head, creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece you'll treasure for years to come.
