  • Alexa skills started 2014 but started taking shape and in 2017, it took shape as a potential  sales channel and we were looking at $200 million globally on sales driven through voice commerce and by 2018 it reached $2 Billion.
  • By 2022, it is going to be $40 billion as a market.  

The science behind voice search

  • The Amazon Choice Badge
    • You should get it if possible.
    • In-skill purchasing can drive profit to your sites, Alexa will also recommend products based on Amazon Choice Badge.
  • Keyword research
    • 5 words on average on Alexa, prefers long tail and there are no tools out there to give you the excclusive words but you can use more natural language.
    • These are usually the ones that start with question words.
    • Look at the buyer intent.

  • Amazon makes it easy for basic ads.
  • Check out Amazon’s blueprint for skills — these are the templates that you can work with.
  • You do not need to know how to code unless you want a more advanced skill build.
  • Rule of thumb: a thousand plus in terms of keywords by search volume.
