John Hefter was raised in the hamlet archipelago of the Berkshire hills in New England. His father, A Fulbright winner, software innovator, and author and illustrator of over 150 children’s books, ensured that the family was raised in privilege. His mother was a wild and irreverent woman from Manchester England. Both parents came from hard beginnings. John has three siblings, two of which are adopted. John was sent two a series of exclusive private schools. Here, he experienced the tangible misery of the wealthy, and became wary of their path. The second chapter of John’s youth was a dark one. The family was plagued with illness, both mental and physical. By the time John reached adulthood, The family fortune had crumbled and both of his parents were gone. It was at this point that John decided to take on the world with vigor. No longer in his father‘s shadow, he strived to live a successful life that was authentically his. Today, John is a founding team member and Senior Vice President at Thrasio. Thrasio is the fastest profitable company ever to reach a $1B valuation in the United States.
